Family Under Quarantine

I was made aware of a topic this past week
that reminded me how important this information is.

I got an email from my friend who has
literally been quarantined at home with
her three daughters. ( I could hear and
feel the distress in her note).

It seems that her 4 year old contracted
"Shigella" at a movie theatre. Shigella is
a rapidly speading intestinal "bug".

And as such, it quickly made it's way to her 2 year old,
6 year old and of course, to mom.

It is mandatory that Shigella be reported to the Center for
Diseaes Control. Her kids are not allowed back in school
until they all have negative, well, her quote, "poop" specimens.
I won't even go into that tale.

The importance of all of this is..... no one really told her
some of the things she needed to know, and as
a result she and her family have been through tremendous
stress, strain, and suffering. Some could have been
avoided, and this may have been resolved much sooner!

Her doctor said, "just make sure they wash their hands"

But every one knows that 3 young kids who run,
and hug, and touch, and play are spreading germs every where.

And what about the car, and car seats?

Could 2-3 weeks of quarantine been avoided? I think it's likely.

This Shigella outbreak causes diarrhea and intestinal lesions.
An unpleasant experience to live through for 2-3 weeks,
with one child, let alone three.
It is pretty hard on the little ones,
and they are at risk for dehydration too.

No one told my friend to clean her house and
the areas where it is most likely spread:
kitchen, bathroom, playroom, door knobs, railings,
and laundry.

This is where essentail oils can be so beneficial.
Essentail oils are not new, they've been around
for thousands of years but have been brought
through modern history to the United States.

A french medical doctor, Dr. Jean Valnet experienced
success during the second World War, treating war injuries
with antiseptic essential oil solutions.

He published a book in 1964 and is responsible
for training over 1,000 French physicians
currently using essential oils in their practice.

Essential oils have been accepted as valid therapy
in France, and a prescription for essentail oils can be
filled at a local pharmacy and paid for by insurance.

Numerous studies have proven the antiseptic qualities
of essential oils. The antiviral and antifungal properties
have much to offer as medicine has little to offer for
the treatment of viruses.

Sure, you could use Lysol or bleach, but they
can't be ingested to kill "bugs" like Shigella. Therapeutic
grade essential oils like Digize, from Young Living,
can be added to capsules or water to kill "unfriendly"
intestinal bacteria like Shigella.

The amount of Lysol and bleach that you have
to use in your house or car in this instance can be toxic.

However, 30-40 drops of essential oils in a spray bottle
could have cleared up whatever bacteria was left behind
by my friend's six little unwashed hands.

It's a shame that no one in the medical community
had this info for my friend. She stated," Wow,
I never even thought about the car"..... and immediately
ran for her lavender essential oil to start the
cleaning proccess.

She knew she couldn't use clorox
in her car and was so relieved to finally have
a healthy solution to her problem,
that was also good for her family and their home.

To prevent the spread of germs between your family
members use any of the many essential oils that kill
bacteria on a regular basis.

Lavender and Eucalyptus can be added to your laundry.

Atleast 2-3 times a week I recommend adding a few drops
of Lemon, Orange, Peppermint, or Grapefruit oil
to a pitcher of water at family dinners. Make
sure it is pure, therapeutic grade. It is high in
antioxidants to build your immune system, and will kill
viruses.

I know some families that have had completely healthy
cold and flu seasons since with no sick kids or antibiotics
since adding essential oils to their daily routines.
